The Meteorological centre on Wednesday stated thunderstorm and lightning are more likely to happen in elements of Odisha at present.

The alert comes days after Cyclone Fani wreaked havoc in the state, claiming the lives of as many as 64 people.

Odisha's Particular Aid Commissioner (SRC) stated, "Harmful thunderstorm and lightning alert for Betanati and Barsahi blocks of Mayurbhanj district and Remuna, Nilagiri and Baleswar blocks of Baleswar district immediately."

The official additionally stated heavy thunderstorm and lightning is probably going in areas reminiscent of Thakurmunda, Kaptipada and Hatadihi blocks of Mayurbhanj district, Anandapur and Ghasipura blocks of Keonjhar district, Khaira block of Baleswar district, Bonth and Bhadrak blocks of Bhadrak district.

In the meantime, Bhubaneswar`s Meteorological Centre stated, "Average thunderstorm or lightning with mild rainfall and gusty wind velocity reaching 30 to 40 kmph more likely to happen at one or two locations over the districts of Anugul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Balangir between Three-Three.45 pm and Three-6.45 pm.

"Fani made landfall in Odisha on Might Three, with Puri recording the utmost variety of casualties (39), in accordance with official estimates launched by the Odisha authorities on Saturday.

In accordance with authorities knowledge, livestock casualties are over 34 lakhs and over one crore sixty-five lakh individuals have been adversely affected by 'Fani' within the state.
